* For today, our schedule consist of us having an orientation and bonding time with the local students in Wuchang University of technology and a tour of the campus' facilities.
In the
morning, our lecturers, Dr Sujit and Miss Mikia, brought us to the venue where
we are supposed to have our lectures and tutorials for 5 week.
Our venue
for lectures and tutorials are located on top of a hill! (It is just like our
school back in Ngee Ann; On top of a hill). It is a called Foreign Language
School (国际教育学院; 文法与外语学校).
The trip up the school is long and tiring
as the slope of the hill is very steep. My soles were aching badly by the time
we reach the school. Thankfully, the view up the steep hill is breathtaking! It
shows a magnificent view of famous Yangtze River (I think!) I will upload the pictures of the view along the slope soon as i hardly have any of them with me right now.
Here are a few picture for you all to enjoy in the meantime!
As you can see from the picture, the lake/river at the background of the photo is the presumed Yangtze River!
All of us then proceeded to the English Salon's auditorium for the welcoming speech made by the lecturers and director in charge of the language school.
The English Salon
The auditorium used to host our welcome!
After the welcoming speech and the interaction with the friendly local students from the language school, we head towards the exit of the school and took a group photo on the steps
outside of our study venue.
Below is a few pictures of the surrounding views of the language school!
We were then brought to the Wuchang Library! The outer view of the library is awesome! It does not look like a library at all! It resembles more of a grand shopping centre of some sort.
I was surprised and touched by the gestures of our hosts. They even made banners all around the school welcoming us!
This is one such example.
[Captain obvious; But if you don't understand Chinese]: The board says:
热烈欢迎新加坡义安理 工学院师生来我校交流学习! (Warmly welcome Singapore's Ngee Ann Polytechnic teachers and students to come to our school for overseas exchange and learning). For the past few days, i have no idea why but i am kind of starting to lost my ability to speak and type English.. So please pardon me for my absurd translation.
Moving on! Along the way to the library, the view (I know.. It's the view again.) was FABULOUS. It kind of reminds me of the structures of ancient Rome ruins for some reasons. Let the pictures speak for itself!
See! The structure of the right look so Rome-like.
The tour guide then brought us into the library to have a first impression of how their library is like. As soon as we stepped into the library, we were greeted by this gigantic protrait/picture.
It is a interesting picture to look at! The entire picture is all made up of famous figures of the past. How many of these figures can you all identify and recognise?
I apologise for the rotated image. Was facing some technical issues when uploading the pictures onto blogger! Sorry! XD.
Afterwards, we were given a short tour around the library! These are some of the views taken at the top of the library!
More shots of the Yangtze River from the top!
Lastly, a group shot!
We then had local economic rice for lunch! If i am not wrong, it is called 辣子鸡丁 (Spicy chicken cubes?!). This dish is strongly recommended by the local students who made a brief exchange with us! The name of the dish sounds spicy but trust me, it does not taste spicy at all! In fact, it taste quite salty. But it reminds me of home cooked dishes back in Singapore. It 's tastyyyyyyy!
辣子鸡丁
Sorry for the tilted photo! Brought this delicious mango yogurt milk drink (果粒奶优)! It's manufactured by Minute Maid. The taste of this drink is very refreshing and the mango taste is just nice. The mango taste and the yogurt taste blends well together. The design of the bottle is also very unique and creative! I 've yet to see this kind of design in Singapore (I think).
果粒奶优
After lunch, Pei Pei, Karize, Jodie, Hui Ting, Li Si and me headed out to buy some groceries or should i say FOOD at the supermarket which is quite far away. Their stuff in the supermarket is quite different from the ones we see back in Singapore. They sell packaged dried beef! Such as this:
阿里牛牛五香味牛肉片 (Dried beef slices that are spices flavour)
The beef slices tastes.... dry and hard. It still taste okay.
Next up! Black sesame honey/caramel glazed pretzel?? I really don't know what the translation is but yeah. It is like twisted dough biscuit? In Chinese it is called 麻花卷 i think! It taste very nice! It is quite sweet because it is coated with either honey or caramel. The black sesame increases the aroma of the twisted pretzel. It is kind of hard but! IT TASTE NICE :D
Black sesame honey/caramel glazed pretzel!
The following part might contain A disturbing image that might strictly traumatize rabbit lovers! Please do not proceed if you have a strong love for rabbits!
Jokes aside! I brought this very interesting product in the supermarket! It's called..... *plays some very majestic background music*

Rabbit BBQ meat! 兔烧烤!
Well... I tried this. I mean, it is a once in a lifetime experience right?! It tastes like.. chicken? I have to keep reminding myself that I am just eating meat! I was kind of skeptical of eating it at first. The thought of eating rabbit meat kind of scared me a little at the beginning.. But.. It is just meat only.. Right?? That aside, after eating having my once in a lifetime experience of eating that ONE little packet of it, i still have the entire packet left in my room!
After patronizing the supermarket, it was reaching dinner time soon! We headed over to a local restaurant for dinner. We ate a dinner which is somewhat similar to steamboat. We ordered chicken and some other small dishes such as mushrooms and meatballs. Some of the pictures of our dinner!
The dinner was tasty and fulling! The pot of chicken is a bit salty but it tastes like the food in Singapore!
Before i forget.. we used the plastic utensils for our dinner. So erm in the process of trying to unwrap the plastic cover, i accidentally broke my plastic spoon.. I kind of feel like THE HULK when i heard the plastic spoon snap!It was kind of amusing! I remember the entire shop went silent when i snap my spoon!
After this, we went back to our hostel , did some washing up and slept.
