* Our morning started at around 0700? The hotel staff gave us all a wakeup call (Their form of wake up call is very different from Singapore's hotels wake up call. Their wake up call involves their staff knocking on our doors till we are awake! Crazy right?)
Our morning breakfast is at 0730 or 0800! (Sorry guys! I kind of forgot the timing!)
We have quite a plain and filling dinner.
After our breakfast, we head towards our first destination of the day! We are going to climb up many flights of stairs to reach the peak of 南岩金顶 (I have no idea what it is in English).
Below are some of the pictures that I have taken whilst walking up those tiring flight of stairs!
As Karize and I are walking at the last of the queue, we soon lost sight of our tour guide. But luckily there is a small group of students in front of us and we quickly tailed them. However, we still our sight of clique. Thus, Karize and I went to the nearby shops and brought some souvenirs back for our family. I brought a small little pouch which says: Safety.
I brought it to keep it as a talisman to bless my entire family so that we will all be safe!
Karize brought a turquoise stone bracelet and a few safety pouches as well.
We rushed back to the gathering point thinking we are late but guess what? When we reached the assembly point, there was no one there. Seems like we are the first.
We waited at the assembly with Hui Ting and after around 10 minutes, only from then people started to slowly come in. After around 20 minutes of waiting, everyone finally came back. Immediately after, all of us have to take a bus to our next venue for lunch!
Our tour guide and lecturers told us that we are going to climb the highest peak in Wudang mountain! Thus most of us ate a lot more just to conserve more energy for the tiring trip up the mountain. I heard from the lecturers that we will spend around 1 hour just to climb up the mountain! Oh my god! "1 hour worth of stairs climbing?!" I thought to myself. I have no stamina of physical stuff at all! But thankfully, I cleared it with perseverance and determination! (Random morals). Anyways, all of us took a cable car up the Wudang mountain!
I have an extreme fear for height since I was young! However, as what people always say: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! I personally don't really agree with that statement. I sat on a rollar coaster to reduce my fear for height but unfortunately, it had an opposite effect on me. I still remember that feeling when the cable car moved out of the cable car station. I can literally feel butterflies in my stomach. But luckily, my clique kept on telling me that everything will be okay! I felt much better after they consoled me! the cable car ride lasted for about 8 minutes! Before i know it, the cable car ride was over!
Immediately upon reaching, we have to start climbing the flights of stairs! The stairs seem to be never ending! The steps are also widely spaced from each other! They can also be very short in breadth! This is quite a big problem for me because i have a big foot. Thus, when i step on that step, my foot only cover half the step! The steps can also be very tall or very short! So the steps are all very unstable.
After a terrible and disastrous test of perseverance, we have finally reached the top!
If you wonder why are there coins on the ledge on the door is because it is a form of good luck if your coin managed to stay put when you place them on the ledge! Thus, many people try out their luck on whether their coins will stay on the ledge or not!
I also made a lock for my whole family. The lock represents good luck (again!) when you lock your lock on the ledge of the railings! I was so excited that i forget to take a photo of my lock before I lock my lock.. Thus, I am only left with this blurry picture of my locked lock..
After locking my lock, we have to leave Wudang mountain already! The way down the mountain is even more difficult then the climbing up the mountain!
We then took the cable car back down!
All of us went to take the coach back to our hostel. It is another painful 5 to 6 hours of bus ride all over again!
We reached our hostel at around 2320pm. All of us were restless and after all our unpacking and such, we dropped onto our bed and slept.
