Day 6; 09032013, Saturday.

* Disclaimer: This post is more like a picture post! I will flood this post with at least 100 pictures! So, ENJOY!

Today, all of us are heading towards Wudang Mountain! All of us are required to gather downstairs outside our hostel building at 0730am. My dorm mates (Pei pei, Karize, Hui Ting, Li Si and Jodie) and I were almost late! We rushed down as quickly as possible to come to a realization that all 43 of us, (lecturers included)have had the meeting point wrong. The supposed meeting point was outside of the university's entrance! All of us then hurriedly rush to the entrance to find our guide and coach waiting for us.
Due to the fact that we were almost late, we were all at the end of the queue. Thus, the seat Karize and I have was terrible. I mean like SERIOUSLY TERRIBLE. It was small and squeezy at the back of the coach so I do not have much space for maneuver. I also have no choice but to place my haversack on my lap. The ride to the destination is around 5-6 hours!
About 1 and a half hour into the journey, we stopped by a service station for toilet break and to shop for some snacks. The price of the food is almost 1 or 2 fold of the price of the same food in the nearby shops of our hostel! It was kind of pricy but i had no choice but to buy some food to entertain myself for this long and tiring bus ride. I basically slept and "stoned" throughout the entire bus ride. My back and knees hurt during the bus ride.. I think i'm growing old at a very shocking accelerated speed!

A little background on Wudang mountain!
Wudang mountain is located in Shiyan, western Hubei. It is a famous scenic spot and it is known as the Taoist Holy Land in China! (Taken this information from IS lecture)

After the long ride, we have finally reached Wudang mountain at around 1400pm! The buildings and structures are very ancient like! The view there reminds me of a particular game i play! (Heh.)

We were immediately led to a local restaurant for lunch! It has been some time since i had such a sumptuous meal! It was a 10 course lunch which includes 9 dishes and 1 soup.
Apparently, most of the residents living near or on Wudang mountain are fond of vegetables! Out of 9 dishes, around 5 dishes are all vegetables! Well, on the bright side, at least err all of us will not constipate!

The 10 course meal!

Taste like vegetable.

The dish is like so fat-like?!: That the fats just melt in your mouth. I have no idea whether is this a good or a bad thing...

The fish is not bad! However, it taste a bit salty.

Taste like vegetable.

Taste like chicken?

Taste like vegetable.

Taste like vegetable.

The soup, in my opinion, is the best dish in the entire meal! I mean the weather is so cold and you have this dish which is so warm and nice!

Taste like tofu.

Most of the courses have been served!

After this filling meal, we head towards the ticketing booth to purchase the entrance ticket into Wudang mountain!

Just a little background information:
Wudang mountain have been a filming site for several movies and serial dramas! It includes:

Journey to the West!

 and Karate Kid!

Unfortunately, as i did not take notice of the instructions earlier, i did not bring my student card along with me to the trip and thus i have to pay double the price my fellow classmates pays. So, i have to pay like an 120 yuan extra.. My heart broke when i had to pay that large amount of money! Ugh! So frustrated that i forgot to bring my own student card! Could have brought some souvenirs with that amount wasted!

The cursed ticket of bankruptcy!

That aside, we proceeded to the tour bus for Wudang mountain!
We started our journey up the Wudang mountain by heading off to our first attraction! The prince slope (太子坡).
On the way to our destination, all of us was appalled by the magnificent view of Wudang mountain!

I can't really remember when is the last time I have traveled to a nature attraction. Thus I hope Wudang mountain will not disappoint me! But thankfully up till now, the journey still went well. These are some of the photos i have taken along the way to Prince Slope!

After a 20 minutes bus ride, we have finally arrived at the bottom of Prince Slope!

After alighting from the bus, the tour guide led us up flights of stairs! Seems like there is still a long long way to go before we reach our final destination.

Along the way, we passed by many stores which sells souvenirs such as red stashes (this red stashes can be used to tie on trees or stone walkways as a form of blessing such as unity of family or eternal health for the entire family), turquoise stone bracelets (the stone used is a kind of rare and exquisite rock/stones found on Wudang mountain! But of course the bracelets sold here are not authentic i think..), and many other more!

You can hardly see this kind of roadside stores which sells souvenirs in Singapore. Usually, most of the souvenir stores in Singapore are usually in shop houses and such. Thus, this is quite an eyeopener for me! Wuhan never failed to surprise me in many different ways!

After flights and flights of steep stairs, we have finally reached our final destination! Prince Slope!

In ancient Chinese, we read chinese characters from the right to left! Whereas in Singapore, all our text and books are read from left to right! Thus some people might read 太子坡 as 坡子太 [Prince Slope]! After we reached the  entrance of Prince Slope, I decided to take some breathtaking views of the surrounding!

I kind of felt like I am in some kind of ancient martial arts film site just by looking at these magnificent views! Oh! In the second picture, can you spot the red stash tied onto the stone ornaments on the railings? That is the red stash I was talking about!

More views of the building and structures of Prince Slope!

Just when we thought we have finished climbing those horrible flights of stairs... Think again.

The tour guide then proceeded to guide us further into Prince Slope.

Our first stop is 福禄寿 (Good fortune, Prosperity and Longevity)!

It is a place similar to a temple whereby you pray for good fortune, prosperity and longevity for yourself and your family.

Next off! We entered 复真观 (Sorry i have no idea what is the English translation for this!)!The Chinese characters are different because the characters used in the picture are traditional Chinese whereas the Chinese characters that i type is in simplified Chinese.

In the above picture, you can see a lady trying to cross that tall door ledge by swinging their leg across it. This is because, people believe that by crossing over the ledge in one go, you will be able to cross any obstacles in life successfully! However, if you step on that ledge whilst trying to cross over it, disaster will bestow upon you!

We were then led into 五云楼 (Five clouds shrine????)! More pictures for you all to enjoy!

The tea shop seems to be very exquisite and peace-like? I would like to go in and try drinking tea in the shop but as we are pressing on time, I didn't have the chance to do it.

Our last stop on Prince Slope is this exhibition hall on the different view of Wudang mountain!

The picture below is my favourite view of Wudang mountain! The view of Wudang mountain covered in snow is so.. beautiful that it is beyond description.

At the beginning of the trip, I thought that Wudang mountain was snowing! Guess it was a lie as Wudang mountain  is so sunny! I told my friends that I will even take pictures of Wudang mountain's snow for them! Guess it is impossible..

After this, we went headed back down to the bottom of Prince Slope.

After this, we headed to another tourists hot spot of  Wudang mountain!

Can you tell the difference between the two lion head statue at the bottom? Which statue is male and which statue is female?

The statue above is female because the female statue held a mini little lion statue!

This statue is male because it is holding onto a dagger/sword or something!

The picture above is unique! Can you spot anything which is out of place on the roof? There is 4 statue on the roof! There is a origin behind it! But I'm not really sure of it though..

After visiting, we headed back down  to the entrance again!

All of us then proceeded to our hotel for baggage deposition!

Karize and I shared a room and we are allocated to room number 3108 i think! Whilst Pei Pei, Jodie, Hui Ting and Li Si is our neighbours!

Surprisingly, the hotel room is not what I expected!  It is very nice and clean!

There is a working computer in the hotel room as well! Yay!

Below is a view outside of our hotel!

Our dinner for the day! The dishes for out dinner is quite similar to the dishes for lunch! As you can see, there are still quite a number of dishes which consist of vegetables!

After our dinner, we headed to Hui Ting and Li Si 's room to test the batch of oreos that we brought a few days ago! We tasted the blueberry and peach flavour; birthday cake flavour and last but not least vanilla ice cream flavour! All three of them taste not bad. The flavour which I am fond of the most is the birthday cake flavour! It tastes sweet and with a tinge of vanilla taste! To be honest, the birthday cake flavour just taste like sweetened Singapore's oreo! But still, it taste nice! After out food tasting session, we played UNO! Tons of crazy stuff happened! All of us speak in different accent to entertain ourselves! It was a very fun night and afterwards, we headed back to our rooms! However, as we stayed till very late, the corridor was pitch black when we tried to go back our rooms. Neither of us dared to go back even though our room doors are just next to each other. We count to three and sprinted back at the speed of light! (the distance between our rooms is just 2 meters away!)
